I support UPEI profs
Dr. Polson
Who's that man in the handsom hat? Derrick do you know?

Wayne's probably campaigning for a new fishtank
Dr. Opps. No one else puts their baby in a backpack (not a baby carrier, but an honest to goodness backpack no less)
I support wage and benefit and workload parity with other maritime universities. Know why? Other profs are DICKS and these guys aren't so they shouldn't get shafted.
As for those who think it would've been more considerate to wait for the end of exams to strike.... you don't get the point of having a strike do you? It's supposed to be disruptive so people pay attention.

My interest in blogs has been waning as of late -- can you tell from my blog?
I totally support the UPEIFA. Their claims are all founded as is the strike. In my mind, it's an easy choice.
UPEI cannot be a top-notch reserching university bringing in all kinds of dollars if the professors have no time for said research. Teaching loads are much too high. Something has got to give, be it salary or teaching loads (ie. more professors).
What the other side doesn't realize is that there is a positive feedback loop to be had. On par teaching loads and salaries will draw fantastic researchers that will also have to conform to UPEI's excellence in teaching. More research dollars makes UPEI look better. Higher enrollments are not far behind, which translates into more money.
