"Undergrad"

One of the perks of being an undergrad in not your hometown is the ability to re-invent yourself at will and do things that are out of character for you. I just spent two hours at a coffee house with latin american style music. Betcha didn't see that coming.

P.S. I was greatly impressed by the incease in dan shaefer's pecs when he was up this weekend. Pump it up Shaef!

For those about to Squat

Heyall. Yesterday was squat day and it was all going well in the gym until I started a decent on the first rep of my second set when I heard a big rip. I thought "tendons!" but realized I was in no pain. When I realized it was my drawers I had to try really hard to not burst out laughing and lose control of the weight.

I hope this isn't habit forming or this could get expensive.

The Sons of Martha


The Sons of Mary seldom bother, for they have inherited that good part; But the Sons of Martha favour their Mother of the careful soul and the troubled heart. And because she lost her temper once, and because she was rude to the Lord her Guest, Her Sons must wait upon Mary's Sons, world without end, reprieve, or rest.

It is their care in all the ages to take the buffet and cushion the shock. It is their care that the gear engages; it is their care that the switches lock. It is their care that the wheels run truly; it is their care to embark and entrain, Tally, transport, and deliver duly the Sons of Mary by land and main.

They say to mountains "Be ye removèd." They say to the lesser floods "Be dry." Under their rods are the rocks reprovèd -- they are not afraid of that which is high. Then do the hill-tops shake to the summit -- then is the bed of the deep laid bare, That the Sons of Mary may overcome it, pleasantly sleeping and unaware.

They finger Death at their gloves' end where they piece and repiece the living wires. He rears Early at dawn, ere men see clear, they stumble into his terrible stall, And hale him forth like a haltered steer, and goad and turn him till evenfall.

To these from birth is Belief forbidden; from these till death is Relief afar. They are concerned with matters hidden -- under the earthline their altars are -- The secret fountains to follow up, waters withdrawn to restore to the mouth, And gather the floods as in a cup, and pour them again at a city's drouth.

They do not preach that their God will rouse them a little before the nuts work loose. They do not preach that His Pity allows them to drop their job when they damn-well choose. As in the thronged and the lighted ways, so in the dark and the desert they stand, Wary and watchful all their days that their brethren's ways may be long in the land.

Raise ye the stone or cleave the wood to make a path more fair or flat; Lo, it is black already with the blood some Son of Martha spilled for that! Not as a ladder from earth to Heaven, not as a witness to any creed, But simple service simply given to his own kind in their common need.

And the Sons of Mary smile and are blessèd -- they know the Angels are on their side. They know in them is the Grace confessèd, and for them are the Mercies multiplied. They sit at the feet -- they hear the Word -- they see how truly the Promise runs. They have cast their burden upon the Lord, and -- the Lord He lays it on Martha's Sons! against the gates they tend: they feed him hungry behind their fires.


So my question is this: which one are you? I'm a Martha for sure.

The Speciality of having attended UPEI engineering and a slow Saturday night

Last night was the 3rd annual Jonny Cash memorial pubcrawl here for the UNB Mechanical Engineering society. I was in attendance and I must say it was good times. Also during the progress of the night a thought came upon me - I don't forsee a time in my lifetime when friends that were met at UPEI will not be heald very dearly.

On another note last night was a bit of a late one so tonight I'm promising myself to be boring and be on the couch by 9:00 to get some much needed rest. Luckily there's no thermo assignment this weekend so I don't have that much stuff to do.

An Update I'm making because I feel I've been neglecting my blog

Hey guys! I'm going to be "over home there" this weekend from Friday night till Monday midday and hope to see you's guys over there but if you can't make it than that'll be the way she goes. Sometimes she goes, sometimes she doesn't. It's the way she goes.

I got to go skeet shooting the other day with a friend from school, I'll keep details minimal incase what we did wasn't 100% legal, which I think it was. Let's just say the big ole' pump action 12 guage shotgun really makes you feel "in charge" of things.

Busy filling out "Form 200" and feeling pretty good about it. Not cocky, but pretty good. Things look well for plan "Flee Fredericton like everyone has leopracy" for the spring of 2006. Looking forward to moving all my stuff back home and starting a new chapter in the adventure.

Well gotta go worsh some dishes. Talk to you all later
